When a writer dies another arises to write about their death. They write about how they contributed to society, and how their works will never be forgotten. A writer has recently died, Keegan, and many writers have risen to write about her few works. Few, because she died at twenty-two, right after graduating from Yale, right after writing about how young her class was, and right after she said "We have so much time".
An excerpt from her last essay says:
"The notion that it's too late to do anything is comical. It's hilarious.
We're graduating college. We're so young. We can't, we MUST not lose
this sense of possibility because in the end, it's all we have."
As always the public had opinions and their reactions were mainly humanistic. How sad, she had so much to live for, hope was all she had....It is all about her. And it is. It is about her; her eternity. Another soul is on its way. David in the book of psalms says, "So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom" (90:12). In this day and age we do exactly the opposite. We live in a generation called "Carpe Diem". Were wisdom has no meaning, and we must do everything our little heart sets out to do because we may have no tomorrow. Alas, even if there is no tomorrow for us, we will face heaven or hell one day. You may not agree with me. You may be an atheist, you may be agnostic, you may be whatever. Whatever you are, one day every knee shall bow at the mention of His name. God opposes the proud but He gives grace to the humble. He will never let you succeed in your pride because of his mercy and grace.
It is through Him all things are made and for Him. Did you know you were made for Him? Many people don't. Hence their days are never wise. And their hope is humanism. I leave you with my hope...
I believe if we humble ourselves and repent our God would sing over us something like this:
"The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light, and your God will be your glory." This is my hope in Jesus. He will be my glory. He will be my all. He is all I have.
