Today we met up with Blake and Katy Edgmon, missionaries to Trinity College in Dublin. They had two Irish students meet up with us and talk to us a little about their lives and their cultures. There were many things one of the students said, but for the sake of time I won't mention everything she said. She did say something that caught my attention and I felt the Lord speak to me. It is something very simple, but like always, I forget the most simple things. She told us that an Irish person does not trust very easily and that one of the things she does in ministry is simply listen and invest her time on that person. Not sure why I had forgotten that. Lately we have been so busy that it has been hard to focus on my friends and the people I want to get to know more. I have asked myself the reason why I don't know my coworkers, friends, and family more? Well....I need to make time. I need to invest my life and listen. Listen, listen, listen. Tomorrow I am suppose to share a small testimony to the children on this specific verse: Love your neighbor as yourself. Ironic huh? Maybe God is trying to tell me I need to start doing that more often.
God, can you help me love my friends, family, and coworkers like myself? I take care of my body the way that is most beneficial to me. How should it look like when you tell me I must do that very same thing to another?
